Keeping our Aging Parents Safe

As our parents age we need to become more sensitive to their home safety needs. Make sure to offer to check the batteries on their smoke detectors and offer test their smoke detectors to ensure they are working correctly.

Another safety concern is ensuring there is a working fire extinguishing agent in the home. Also, make sure your parent knows how to operate it correctly and that they are comfortable handling it. According to a recent Jarden Home Safety Survey 52% of adults 65 and older are not confident in their ability to operate a fire extinguisher. Aging parents often have arthritis and are not confident that they are physically capable of extinguishing a fire, should one occur.

There is a solution available for your parents’ home protection, the Tundra™ Fire Extinguishing Spray. Packaged in a lightweight, easy to use spray can Tundra offers an effective, fast solution for fire safety. Easily stored, the Tundra 2 pack allows one can for the kitchen and one for the living room or bedroom. What better gift can you give to your beloved parent for Mother or Father’s Day then peace of mind?
